Teatime Beauty Soap

You can easily create your own exquisite beauty soaps sans fancy packaging, chic logo, and high price tag. With a gently abrasive quality that is kind to all skin types. Teatime Soap will leave your skin smooth, cleansed, and pleasantly fragrant.

1 five-ounce bar castile or vegetable oil soap
1/3 cup brewed tea (any kind) or water
1/4 cup Green Tea
6 to 8 drops comlementary essential oil

Materials Needed:
handheld grater
enamel saucepan
empty pint milk carton, cut to a height of 4 inches
plastic wrap
waxed paper
citrus zester

Using the large holes of a grater, grate the soap into the saucepan. Add the brewed tea and gently heat over medium-low until the soap has softened, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon. Remove from the heat and cool until easy to touch, about 10 minutes. Knead with your hands to make a smooth paste. Sprinkly the tea blend and oil over the paste and continue to knead until blended. Let rest for 10 minutes.

Press the soap mixture evenly into the milk carton and cover the top of the soap with plastic wrap. Let stand for 2 hours. Remove the plastic wrap and tear away the carton mold. Using your hands, smooth the sides and edges of the soap. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest in a warm, dry spot for 24 hours. Discard the plastic wrap, rewrap the soap in waxed paper, and store in a warm, dry place for 1 month before using. For a decorative textured finish, pull a sezter over each of the soap's 6 sides.
